BACK FROM VIETNAM!

hihihihihi everyone!!
im back from Vietnam 10 days tour!! AND NO, I DID NOT STEP ON A LANDMINE.. lol because when we hear of
Vietnam = a poverty country, still at war (or not, but guess still dangerous), beggars, robbers, pooor poor people, salvation..
but NOOOOOOO, REALLY NON OF THE ABOVE. non. in fact, if there was no electricity or computer, they are the only ones who will survive. they got everything!! natural river water, crops, fire. the country is basically flooded with natural resources..

:D wow.. i mus say its realli a once in a lifetime experience and was definitely different from the rest of the travellings i've been.
not that i've been to alot of countries but to name a few would be :
-Hong kong
-Taiwan, south part
-Thailand, Bangkok, chiang mai
-China, beijing and around there
-France, Paris & valenciennes
-last and the most(not least), Vietnam!! Hanoi, Sa Pa & Halong bay.

anyway, the top list is for my own memory sake.
because i so love to travel, i used to think that if i only had 100 days to live before i,maybe die of some terminal disease, which of cos so din wish to happen, i would wan to travel around to places to see for myself instead of staying in Spore for my last dying day. i don mind dying while doing something i like. of cos don say i do design and probably working overtime when i died, not tat i don like design, but u noe...working and dying is definitely not a good way to get a life.
ANYWAY, jus to prove my point... LOL

heres my diary trip (try to keep it short and simple)

Day 1:
Took Tiger Airways, of cos! cos we are poor yet dying to travel peoples..
hehe and then its so budget, we have to climb up the stairs to the plane through the run way (instead of the usual 'bridge' that will get u from airport to inside the plane) ok well, goodbye singapore!

and welcome vietnam!!
at 9pm
and it was chilling that night, and heng heng was a match of soccer between VIETNAM AND THAILAND, known as suzuki cup. the night was crazy, full street of youngsters carrying Vietnam flags and tying bandanas around their head, riding motors across streets, cheering and horning as they pass by. hav never seen people so patriotic in my life!! and it was cool with the red flag, and yellow star in middle
something like what EDWIN ALWAYS like to have, jus diff colour... lol

Day 2: (HANOI CITY TOUR)
JUST SO YOU NOE, WE HAD DIFFERENT TOUR GUIDES AND TOUR GROUPS EVERYDAY. its something like backpack and impromptu join tour kind of thing.. so everyday we had different people with us on tours...

at Central square of Ho Chinh Min's tomb, it means "Republic of Vietnam forever!"
forever so patriotic..


another patriotic stall... the reason is also cos they are still under military government rule..
and then the rest were temples and temples..

Day 3:
Ninh Binh, Tam Coc travel.

met a couple staying in Queensland, telling us "the first sound we heard in the morning are baaaaa (from sheeps) and mooos (from cows)"
and went on to say that her husband is a lawyer, she is a social activist, something like a woman appealing for women equality and fighting for rights with the government. They had two children, 20 pluses.. and the old couple themselves got married only 5 years ago...
geez

interesting.
they believe strongly in just being with the right person, so what if got married, if they don fit together, divorce will still happen.. so they were realli realli a happi couple.

went 'bicycle trekking' for 1 hour plus and row a boat for the next 2 hours. phew, scenery is amazingly beautiful.


Day 3:
its new year's eve!!
overnight stay in a junk on Halong bay..which might soon going to be the new 7 wonders of the world. my 2nd wonder after Eiffel Tower!
i love this shot, its like the movie scene in Red cliff..lol jus cos the junks look abit more oriental, it makes me flutters with excitement liao...

we had a surprise dinner that night, INSIDE A CAVE!! it was fully lit up just by candles itself. and from far, the candles look like fireflies in the photo. quite a spectacular sight.



theres a live string orchestra, playing classical music, weather is cooling, around 20 degrees below, imagine yourself having a gala dinner inside a natural cave.

thats the family of 4 that we met that day in the junk, Australians, mother opens a fashion label hence travelling quite often.
i realli am a mountain tortoise, easily amazed..

the cave dinner is realli veri special, but we din countdown in e end, it was too cold to stay inside. hence we slept through the countdown in our comfy junk bed... yum.

this area was surrounded by mountains, the only exit and entrance was through a cave.. then in there you'll realise Mankind is like an ant, we are so insignificiant. see how small we are compare to Nature. yet our problems seem so big in our lives when we actually should be living larger than our lives...
what im trying to say is, most of the time we think about our problems and think its so big to us, when actually, it is really just a parcel of our life just like how the mountains as compare to how small we are.. :)

so don worrie, everything is fairly simple, don think too complicated.. hehe






day 4: halong bay for half a day, in boat to shore for another 2 hours. and a OVERNIGHT TRAIN RIDE TO NORTH PART! a freak 10 hours long ride. hard to sleep, but fun in that natural rocking by baby..


day 5:
a half day trek for bout 10 km~ along routes of rice padi fields, waterfalls and big muddy paths. avoiding cow dungs along the way, saw alot of wild pigs, horses along the path and oxes in the fields...

its those tv scene where u shout 'SHI JIE NE ME DA!!!!' (the world is so big).. and pan and zoom out to show a tiny me standing on a collapsing bridge which hopefully wont put me down into the not-so-soft rocks below.

here i am sticking a stalk of flower on cow dung, classic xian hua cha zai niu fen sha.. i look like crap..
we went for homestay that night.. in a homestay without a family, basically is like a homestay for tourists to be homestayed with tourists.. lol
